Zagorohoria, 46 altogether, are scattered throughout the mountains, northeast of Ioannina. The word Zagori derives from Slav meaning "behind the mountains". Vitsa which is built amphitheatrically, is one of the most distinctive villages in Central Zagori, attracting tourists with its natural beauty, architectural particularity and rich cultural heritage. The cobblestone pavements and the traditional architecture are certainly worth visiting.
